The Spice team recently went behind the scenes at top Sydney venue Nel Restaurant for an exclusive food experience.

Organised by experience app Funlocka, the experience saw guests don their chef’s whites and step into the kitchen to try their hand at plating up a dish.

Guests then sat down to enjoy a two-course lunch, which chef Nelly Robinson prepared right in front of the group.

Dessert was an interactive experience, where attendees were tasked with guessing all the ingredients in the dish, in a Masterchef-style quiz.

The exclusive lunch was one of a range of activities and experiences that Funlocka can offer corporate groups.

The B2B app connects one-of-a-kind experiences and events with corporate clients and event planners.

Funlocka founder Luke Cook said the platform is focused on delivering tailored experiences to reward and surprise staff.

“We’re not a gifting platform, we want to know more about what you love to do and then personalise experiences that are tailored to what you want,” he said.

“We’ve got over 230 experiences in the platform, we’ve got access to 140 plus suppliers and 70 per cent of the experiences you’ll find on Funlocka are unique to us.”

The experience included a private two-course lunch

Cook said the platform originally launched as a HR platform, but now Funlocka is used in a variety of ways by sales teams, EAs and PAs.

“They’re using it for employee rewards, we’ve got some clients giving the Funlocka credits to clients to reward the staff working on their account and other businesses are giving the credit to staff to reward to someone else in the business,” he said.

Other activities available through Funlocka include a VIP music experience with Australian DJ Tigerlily, team-building with Australian netball stars Erin Bell and Madi Robinson and a CSR meal-packing activity for a local women’s shelter.
