Crystalbrook Collection’s first Cairns hotel ready to launch

Riley, the first of three Crystalbrook hotels, will open on the Cairns Esplanade next month.
Riley will feature a large lagoon pool.

Crystalbrook Collection is gearing up to launch Riley, the first of its three hotels set for Tropical North Queensland.

The 311-room hotel will open its doors on 6 November 2018, marking the first new five-star hotel to open in Cairns in over 20 years.

Centrally located at the northern end of Cairns Esplanade, Riley will also feature event spaces for up to 400 people and three restaurants and bars, including rooftop bar Rocco.

To celebrate the launch, Crystalbrook Collection will donate $100 from every room booked at crystalbrookcollection.com for stays in the first week of operation to reef conservation organisation Citizens of Great Barrier Reef.

The property will include 311 guest rooms.

Crystalbrook Collection CEO Mark Davie says the initiative speaks to the brand’s core value of “responsible luxury”.

“As an organisation hugely committed to the environment and as a founding citizen of Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, this was a natural choice for us to celebrate this exciting opening,” he says.

Andy Ridley, CEO of Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef, welcomed the hotel’s support.

“Crystalbrook has been incredibly supportive of Citizens, most importantly in how they have embraced the environmental approach right from the beginning,” he says.

The hotel’s focus on responsible luxury will extend to a number of initiatives, including paper-free check-in and out, no plastic drinking bottles or straws on premise and room key cards made from 100 per cent recycled wood.

Food will be sourced locally, such as beef delivered directly from Crystalbrook Collection’s own cattle station, located three hours inland from Cairns.
