Event Hospitality and Entertainment Limited has announced it will manage Darwin Central Hotel under its Rydges Hotel brand.

The changeover will take place on June 30, with the hotel reopening as a Rydges on July 1, 2018.

“Darwin Central welcomes Event Hotels under their Rydges brand to manage the hotel of our flagship property,” said Territory Property Group, managing director, Ross Finocchiaro.

“Rydges is synonymous for quality, with excellent food and drink loved by locals and traveller alike – it is the obvious fit for our hotel as we look forward to re-opening the restaurant in 2019 as Marco Aurelio’s, an authentic Italian family establishment.”

Normal Arundel, director of Hotel and Resorts Operations at Event said: “Event is excited to have Rydges Darwin Central join our collections of hotels. This hotel, alongside Rydges Palmerston, gives our loyal guests who travel to The Top End another quality hotel choice, whether travelling for work or pleasure.”

The 132 room family owned hotel is located in the heart of Darwin city. It has an outdoor swimming pool, a new restaurant, cafe and three functions rooms that cater for up to 100 people.
