The world’s favourite travel broadcaster – and favourite man on the tele altogether – has revealed his number one destination on the planet and it’s Australia’s own North Queensland.

Speaking at Australia House in London over the weekend, where he was receiving the 2017 British-Australia Society Award, Attenborough revealed to the room that  North Queensland was his favourite place on earth.

Attenborough explained:

“It has for a naturalist everything. It has an amazing rainforest, which is quite unlike any other rainforest in the world. Not only does it have that, but down on the coast, it has the Great Barrier Reef. On top of that, there’s terrific wine and food, so that’s the place for me.”

The endorsement from one of the most loved and respected voices in travel comes at a time when Cairns and other nearby destinations are significantly bolstering their product for the travel and incentive market. This includes Crystalbrook Collection’s trio of luxury properties, set to open later this year, and the newly refurbished Flames of the Forest, located in the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest.
