Menulog founders launch FoodByUs

FoodByUs co-founder Ben Lipschitz

The founders of Menulog have launched a new food marketplace called FoodByUs.

The new website is designed to be a ‘one stop shop’ for event organisers to source high-quality, fresh and locally produced food from wholesalers using a seamless online ordering system with easy delivery options.

FoodByUs co-founder and managing director Ben Lipschitz says,“Event organisers have been frustrated with the current system. Time-poor professionals are often stuck using one caterer, with a limited product range, that can only order high volumes over the phone. FoodByUs’ new B2B marketplace offers both organisers and wholesale suppliers a smart distribution solution, without the traditionally high markup fees. Suppliers list their products in an incredibly easy to use online marketplace, with organisers able to order easily from any device – this technology is really needed to help evolve the sector.”

FoodByUs offers quality local suppliers a ready-made platform to market and sell their products wholesale, along with an order management system, while organisers can search for local quality products, suited to their needs.

The platform offers GPS tracking for deliveries and mobile ordering along with an integrated payment system.

“We offer an ever-changing marketplace of suppliers catering for all dietary requirements and products to hit any price point. Our state-of-the-art technology is mobile-friendly and can easily place one-off and recurring orders to save organisers and suppliers time. The final piece of the puzzle is the solution to every organisers biggest challenge – logistics,” said Lipschitz.

FoodByUs’ driver network delivers to organisers on behalf of suppliers taking advantage of a purpose-built solution that ensures the organisers get their deliveries on time, while simultaneously communicating the whereabouts of the driver’s status in real time.

Launched in 2016 by Menulog founders Gary Munitz and Tim Chandler, alongside Ben Lipschitz, FoodByUs launched a B2C platform aimed at getting home-based cooks to sell their food to locals.

With investment from Macquarie Capital, FoodByUs has now launched the second phase of its business concentrating on distribution solutions for the conference and events sector. This is now available in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
