Queenstown’s Hotel St Moritz unveils a fresh new look

Meetings and conferences at Hotel St Moritz in Queenstown, NZ (an MGallery by Sofitel property) will have a fresh look and feel following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

The property unveiled its new-look rooms and suites, along with upgrades to public areas yesterday to coincide with the start of the resort’s vibrant summer season.

Renowned interior designer Stewart Harris has delivered “elegant, residential, handsome and desirable” touches to the hotel’s 134 rooms and suites, following the completion of its stunning bathrooms last year.

His brief was to firmly reflect the Central Otago landscape, and to bring a sense of cocooning and serenity to this very special location.

The upgrades include new furniture in the lobby, award-winning restaurant Lombardi and boutique conference and incentive spaces The Library and The Den.

New and enhanced cabling ensures guests stay connected to the outside world with high-speed internet, and brand-new Smart TV’s bring a new level of entertainment and information channels to the property.

Hotel St Moritz General Manager Jo Finnigan expressed her delight with the new look and is certain that the renovation will continue to elevate the boutique hotel in the luxury market.

“I’m delighted with how Stewart has animated our personality through this design,” she says.

“His design embodies the style, stories and allure of Queenstown with a whimsical twist, cleverly bringing together ‘charming’ with ‘luxury’.

“The hotel is the perfect venue for an effortlessly stylish Queenstown event, complete with innovative, memorable touches. Attention is paid to every detail, ensuring each setting is tremendously personalised, current and a just a little bit unexpected.

“Our meetings and conference guests can achieve full ‘alpine immersion’ and feel truly fulfilled during their out of office escape. Everything we do is a celebration of Queenstown, right down to the sprig of wild thyme on every boardroom table placement.”

Meetings, incentive and conference guests at Hotel St Moritz Queenstown will experience superb New Zealand cuisine at Lombardi restaurant, including the opportunity to enjoy the much-lauded Taste of New Zealand menu.

Smaller groups with their heart set on a more intimate dining experience can enjoy a tailored experience in The Library.

Kitchenettes in each suite have been replaced with a modern wet bar, albeit functional kitchen appliances such as toasters and microwaves remain. All suites now feature a Nespresso machine for those essential coffee moments.
