Hot venue: No. 1 William, The Australian Museum

The newly opened restaurant and eatery, 1 Willaims Street, sits on the top floor of the Australian Museum, offering great food and great views of the Sydney skyline

Located on Level 4 of the Australian Museum, No.1 William is now open.

With views overlooking Hyde Park, Sydney Harbour and right up to the Coca-Cola sign at Kings Cross, the new space has floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto an outdoor terrace.

The menu, described as modern Australian casual dining, integrates simple flavours and classic favourites from barramundi to pavlova.

No.1 William is managed exclusively by Create Consultants, whose group executive chef is Keith Jones, formerly of Hilton and Hyatt Hotels.

Create Consultants director Anthony Whitehouse said, “Our vision is to provide a destination in itself, adding to the already amazing experience on offer at the Australian Museum.

“We are excited to complete our first stage of our vision and we have some exciting things planned for both international and local guests to make their visit a truly memorable one,” he said.

Visitors are able to access No. 1 William through the Australian Museum’s Crystal Hall entrance and take the elevator to the rooftop on Level 4.

Catering for up to 180 seated guests and 200 standing, No. 1 William is available for evening and weekend hire for weddings, special events, corporate functions and more.

Adjacent to No.1 William is the Australian Museum’s Harbour View Room and Terrace – a dedicated venue hire space that is available any time of day.

No. 1 William is fully accessible and requires no admission charge when entering via the Australian Museum.
