Group tours can now be arranged for the Friday Foodie Market at The Rocks.
Groups are given a VIP experience where they are given canapé-sized servings of items from selected stalls including Le Renaissance’s award-winning sausage rolls, mini Wagyu burgers, haloumi and vegetable skewers, sushi and okonomiyaki, mini cupcakes, handmade gelato, pulled pork rolls with crackling, handmade German sausages with sauerkraut and gozlemes, all washed down with Te Amo iced teas.
A seated option is also available where the dishes are brought to a table, followed by a brief presentation from the maker.
In addition to this, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority will consider proposals for events held within the precinct where a food market concept is set up to provide catering to groups and vouchers can be arranged for self-guided tours of the markets or large events. Alcohol service can be arranged with prior notice and approval.
The advantage of this approach is that all the food stalls represent businesses from within the precinct and are manned by enthusiastic locals. Furthermore, gift bags featuring food products from the markets such as chocolate, olive oil, biltong, vinegars and gift ware including handmade jewellery and cards can be arranged for delegates, along with fresh floral bouquets.
