This Adelaide Hills establishment has a new 250 seater function pavilion.

Maximilians‘ new owners Andrew Friebe and Emily Kneebone have renovated the restaurant and added the pavilion, an open plan deck, South Australia’s only floating golf hole and hired a new team including head chef Jamie Laing.

“Maximilians has always been an iconic destination. The original restaurant – with a few subtle changes – remains, but importantly we’ve expanded and improved.  We opened up the deck adjacent to the Sidewood Cellar Door with views overlooking the valley and dam on which we’ve put a floating golf green. We have expanded capacity with our  pavilion and our menu is a lot more reflective of today’s style with several dining options including more casual and lighter meals as well as a la carte – all fresh and local of course,” said Friebe.

The ‘re-launch’ has been soft and in stages, with diners discovering or re-discovering the venue.

“Rather than do a big splashy opening, we’ve slowly but surely expanded and improved and it’s paying dividends. Our weekend sessions are huge – reservations to dine are essential,” said Friebe.

Maximilians is located at 15 Onkaparinga Valley Rd, Verdun SA.
