Beach Haus has turned Japanese.

The transformed Beach Haus space on Roslyn St has welcomed sushi ninja Rajendra Kumar Tamang, formerly of One and Only Maldives, Flying Fish and Sokyo at The Star.

Geisha Haus’ cocktails are made at the table using fire, smoke, dry ice and liquid nitrogen they are inspired by traditional Japanese tea flavours and the sake on the menu is top shelf.

Licensee and general manager Darius Rountree-Harrison said, “Geisha Haus is a place where people can find great food and exciting cocktails in a relaxed informal dining and lounge bar setting. It’s a fusion of things, not in a culinary sense but culturally, we’re a fusion restaurant, bar and entertainment venue all at the same time. I imagine something like a Japanese jazz bar in New York, somewhere you can come after work or on the weekend, to see some unexpected artistic aspect of the city while enjoying beautifully crafted Japanese food and cocktails. It draws upon Potts Point’s bohemian past and the role of Geisha as cultural curators, mixing them up into a sophisticated all-encompassing night out. There aren’t too many places in Sydney that jam in as much as we do, or have our passion for great food, drinks and culture all at the same time.”

From film competition, Reel Haus, to Gorgeous Geisha Burlesque featuring Miss Bellisima, the venue is dedicated to supporting Sydney’s performing arts. Reel Haus runs the first Tuesday of every month with at least four films screened on the night. Thursday 8 October marks Gorgeous Geisha Burlesque’s opening night, which will then continue the first Thursday of every month.

Geisha Haus is open Monday – Saturday from 5:30pm and the Geisha Haus bar until 12am weekdays and 3am weekends. Bookings for the intimate dining space are recommended with a capacity for 55 sit-down and 180 stand-up cocktail style.

Geisha Haus is located at Level 1, 5 Roslyn St, Potts Point NSW.
