Make like a pirate and escape to Sydney’s coolest refurbished event space.

Goat Island is located in the middle of the Harbour and has a panoramic outlook towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Accessible from the CBD or Darling Harbour via a short ferry ride or water taxi, you can transport your guests to another world.

It’s a genuinely memorable location for launch events, gala dinners, gallery spaces, photo shoots, cocktail parties, fashion events, team building, live music, corporate Christmas celebrations and festivals. Goat Island venues can comfortably host events from 50 to 1,000 guests.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, which manages the venue, has recently completed a major upgrade of the event facilities in the heritage precinct to herald a new age in the island’s long history.

Goat Island 2

Known as Memel by the Aboriginal Eora people of Port Jackson, Goat Island was a favourite spot for Bennelong and his wife Barangaroo. Over the centuries it has been used as a prison, an explosives store, a bacteriological station, the home of the water police and a film set. Major rock bands have performed here, lured by the unusual setting. These include Midnight Oil, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon.

Today, Goat Island offers the latest in event infrastructure in a distinctive and exciting harbour island environment, with a new commercial kitchen space, ample power and a unique collection of fully refurbished heritage sandstone buildings.

The convicts may have done it tough on Goat Island, but your guests definitely won’t have to, with five star catering available from your own choice of gold licensed caterers.
