Bangkok-based DMC, Stream Events Asia, represented in Australia and New Zealand by MHF Marketing, recently hosted a group of high-end incentive planners from Melbourne on a joint Bangkok and Krabi familiarisation.

The five day trip was designed to promote the concept of combining bustling, urban Bangkok with the serenity of nature-based coastal Krabi, for an incentive programme full of contrasts. Kicking off with a police motorcycle-escorted motorcade from the airport, it was always going to be something special.

Highlights in Bangkok included a sumptuous lunch in a private royal villa and a hands-on cooking class with one of Thailand’s renowned celebrity chefs, with luxury accommodation provided at the Shangri La Hotel Bangkok located overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

Sofitel Krabi

In Krabi, the beachfront Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort provided easy access to a suite of exclusive water-based activities. These included a sunset dinner cruise aboard a Chinese Junk, island hopping on a sleek cruiser straight out of a Bond movie, kayaking into a hidden island lagoon and snorkelling in the crystal clear island waters. Luxurious spa treatments and superb dining were features of both destinations, with a half day spent at a secluded hot springs spa in the lush Krabi rainforest an unforgettable experience.

Thai Airways provided a ‘smooth as silk’ experience on the international and domestic flights, with all participants enjoying their taste of Royal Silk Class.
