Reuben Hills café owner Russell Beard, along with Mark Dundon and property investor Ping Jin Ng, will open a new boutique hotel in Sydney’s Surry Hills in 2016.

The hotel’s entrance will be housed within the Paramount Pictures building alongside Golden Age Cinema and Bar and Beard’s other cafe, Paramount Coffee Project. The hotel will have 30 rooms and is, as yet, unnamed.

First reported by SMH Good Food and Travel Weekly, sources say that the hoteliers are in talks with a leading Sydney bar-restaurant operator to fill its ground floor space and that the project will have an Ace Hotel vibe, meaning that it will be staffed by wall-to-wall hipsters and have a one-off, quirky fit-out.
