IHG took a group of PCOs to Adelaide for a fun-filled weekend of Fringe shows, South Australian wine and destination updates.

The group, who arrived on Friday around midday, were treated to a teppanyaki cooking class at the Intercontinental Adelaide’s Shiki restaurant, followed by a walking tour of the new West Building at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The group then crossed the river on the new linking footbridge that is on InterContinental’s doorstep to the upgraded Adelaide Oval where they checked out the new museum, jam-packed with Donald Bradman memorabilia, climbed up into the antique scoreboard, visited the stunning new Hill of Grace restaurant and relaxed with canapés and drinks.

The evening saw the group enjoy dinner in the Intercontinental Adelaide’s Riverside restaurant, followed by a quick tram ride to the Croquet Club festival site to see a cabaret performance of Soap.

The following morning involved a healthy breakfast at Adelaide Central Market, followed by a tasting tour of the market floor. The group then boarded a bus bound for Bird in Hand and The Lane wineries in the Adelaide Hills where they experienced wine tasting followed by a long, lazy lunch.

The eating continued with a visit to Udder Delight’s tasting room for a cheese class, which was then solidly rounded out with more vino at The National Wine Centre, including tastings of Penfolds Grange from the centre’s enomatic wine dispensing units.

Dinner was entirely unnecessary after the spoils of the day, so the group hit the Redsalt bar at Crowne Plaza Adelaide for some pick-me-up cocktails and headed to the Garden of Unearthly Delights where most of the group watched a comedy show featuring popular Australian comedian Wil Anderson.

Sunday breakfast took place in the Level 28 boardroom of the Crowne Plaza. The IHG team surprised the visitors with massages, the opportunity to blend up a drink on the smoothie-making bikes and a luxurious breakfast of truffled eggs and avocado on sourdough toast.
