The results are in and it seems that Tourism Fiji’s ‘Where Happiness Finds You’ campaign worked wonders.

The number of Australians travelling to Fiji increased by 9,066, reaching a total of 349,217 visitors.

The number of arrivals confirmed by the Bureau of Statistics showed a 5.3% increase in numbers from Fiji’s key markets, reaching the new high of 692,630, reflecting the efforts of Tourism Fiji in offshore offices, as well as the Nadi-based head office.

The most significant increases from specific markets are arrivals from New Zealand, which exponentially grew from 15,729 to 123,968, followed closely by Australia which saw a growth from 9,066 to 349,217. These are new records for both our traditional source markets, equating to an average daily arrival of 340 and 95 respectively.

Other key markets which saw a healthy growth in visitor arrival numbers are the USA (6,539 to 61,924), China (4,910 to 28,333), Continental Europe (1,680 to 30,585) and South Korea (1,451 to 5,676).

Tourism Fiji Acting CEO Wayne Deed said, “Challenging targets have been set for 2015 which the team here at Tourism Fiji have embraced and are already implementing through the activities in various markets. The key in ensuring we continuously meet our targets lies in the spirit of working together, which our team are great at doing. I have no doubt that 2015 will prove to be another fantastic year.”
