Melbourne’s long-running Magic Mike-esque male revue Prince of the Night is coming to Sydney in March 2015.
Speaking exclusively to Spice, Prince of the Night founder and ‘King of the Princes’ MC Craig Weise said that the show is performing so well that he is in talks to bring it to Sydney.
Having been in residence at Crown Casino for the past ten years and running for a further five years prior to that, Weise said the key to keeping the show alive has been updating the music, video and costuming, as well as employing Miss Juliette, the enormously popular female MC. He has also recently worked with renowned director Glen Nicholas to add a little extra sparkle.
Weise said, “Prince of the Night is becoming a household name, like The Chippendales in the US or Tap Dogs. The popularity of cabaret-style entertainment is increasing and Prince of the Night is now a proper company with in-house ticketing, sales and marketing.”
Weise said that while he originally started out with male models and strippers in the show, he transitioned to using professional dancers, singers and actors five years ago. The cast has remained the same since the change over.
The show’s most recent addition is a Game of Thrones number and audiences can expect to see a Boyz II Men closing act in the coming months. Weise is also in talks with Tim from the last season of The Bachelor and hopes to add him to the line up in the coming months.
