Known for introducing innovative products to its ships, Royal Caribbean has added an even wilder side to its new Quantum of the Seas ship.

The first new activity is RipCord by iFly, the first skydiving experience at sea that allows everyone from first-time flyers to seasoned skydivers to enjoy the sheer thrill of skydiving in a safe, controlled, and simulated environment.

The second is the new North Star, an engineering marvel that swings out over the side of the ship at a height of 91 metres above sea level to offer 360 degree views out over the ship and the surrounding ocean.

Royal Caribbean International president and CEO Adam Goldstein said, “We are excited to be introducing major advancements in ship design and offerings on Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas. The innovative spirit of our brand is alive and well, and with Quantum class, we will deliver more unexpected activities in the most extraordinary spaces. Our guests should prepare to be wowed.”

Royal Caribbean was the first company to introduce an ‘at sea’ rock climbing wall, ice-skating rink, FlowRider surf simulator, Central Park and AquaTheater.

This follows on from the news that the new ship will have a Jamie’s Italian on-board.
