The updated interiors at The Victoria Room

With a new look created by interior designer Blainey North and a menu by chef Samuel Cheetham, the 10 year-old Darlinghurst establishment has re-launched to attract a fresh crowd.

Victoria Room’s new owner Dea Manassen said, “The Victoria room has been around for over 10 years and known as a very unique, eclectic and visually impressive venue. However it was getting a little tiresome and old and was in need of a makeover.

“We also wanted to move away from the mix of Moroccan and Middle Eastern influences and concentrate more so on a classy Victorian feel that’s a little more attractive to a larger base of customers. We want to be even more visually impressive with a bigger emphasis on quality of product.

“Thus, we have a new impressive menu and new head chef. It’s still a very romantic venue to take any date but also a fantastic place to enjoy a casual feed and a cocktail in any group size. We have had a few weddings here in the past with great success and we feel that now with some beautiful new chandeliers and opulent feel this is certainly now a venue that is perfect for such an occasion.

“We are really happy with the final result and hope our customers will thoroughly enjoy a new experience at the Victoria Room.”

Cheetham’s new menu emphasises local produce, espcially Sydney seafood. Small share plates include freshly shucked oysters with Campari granita, crispy quail eggs and gribiche, prawn, spanner crab, grapefruit and spring onion lettuce cups and chicken liver parfait with pickles, preserves and grilled sourdough for starters.
