Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza’s meeting facilities include two exhibition halls (total of 3,108 square metres), two convention halls (total of 4,540 square metres) and a conference hall (414 square metres).

The DDP is in close proximity to the new JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square – Seoul’s second Marriott property – which opens next month with 170 guest rooms.

Other hotels in the vicinity include The Shilla Seoul, The Grand Ambassador Seoul, The Lotte Seoul, The Plaza Seoul, and The Westin Chosun.

The Dongdaemun district has long been the focal point of the Korean design industry and is named after the still-surviving Dongdaemun, or ‘Great East Gate’ of ancient Seoul’s city walls.
