Peter Rowland Catering has taking out the titles of ‘Caterer of the Year’ and ‘Best Venue Caterer’ at the Victorian Restaurant & Catering Awards for their catering at Flemington racecourse.
Home of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the world’s richest handicap race, the $6.2 million Emirates Melbourne Cup, Flemington is a hive of activity for functions and events throughout the year in addition to its racing program.
Peter Rowland Catering has partnered with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) as the in-house food and beverage provider for more than 15 years, catering for race day dining and non-race day functions and events at Flemington – The Event Centre.
With 14 different event spaces and an array of outdoor areas, Flemington is a popular destination for business breakfasts, conferences, dinners, parties, weddings and exhibitions.
CEO of Peter Rowland, Brett Walker said his team is thrilled with the awards which were won among a field representing the state’s major caterers and venues.
“We have a great team at Flemington and a strong partnership with the VRC that results in us providing great events to our clients throughout the year,” said Walker.
Peter Rowland has a permanent team at Flemington to service functions and events. Led by venue manager, Stewart Malone, the Peter Rowland team includes event sales and planning, a full kitchen brigade and venue operations.
“Having a professional team on-site ensures that our clients receive the best level of service for every event. Our team knows what works in the venue and adds value that consistently exceeds our clients’ expectations,” added Walker.
Peter Rowland took out the national award as Australia’s Best Venue Caterer in 2011 for their in-house catering at NGV International (National Gallery of Victoria).
