EXCLUSIVE BY JAMES WILKINSON IN BERLIN, GERMANY

Tourism Australia’s Managing Director Andrew McEvoy says inbound business events from Europe is growing alongside the climbing leisure market.

“Europe and the UK in particular think austerity has finally got boring and they are travelling again, so we are seeing good numbers with business events and leisure travel out of this market,” McEvoy exclusively told SPICENEWS and sister publication HM on camera at the ITB trade fair in Berlin, Germany.

“The number one European market is Germany, the Italians have come back in big numbers and the French have really grown, particularly in the last three of four years,” he said.

McEvoy also spoke about the organisation’s ‘Best Job in the World’ campaign, which is exceeding expectations.
