Delaware North’s Australian Operations have secured one of the most lucrative international catering contracts this week with the signing of a multi-million dollar contract with Singapore Sports Hub, a major new $1.33 billion dollar (SG) sports venue opening in April 2014.
Delaware North’s Sports Catering Services division (a joint venture with SATS Ltd) will provide catering, food and beverage services for the multi-million dollar sports centre, retail concessions, corporate suites, and members dining areas – for the 77,000 seat stadium complex – that will house a major 55,000-seat outdoor stadium; 13,000-seat indoor sports stadium and an Aquatic Water and Leisure Centre, amongst its multi-purpose arenas.

The contract with Delaware North’s Sports Catering Services division is for 21 years and also includes catering and food and beverage services for conferences, exhibitions and other special events across five of its venues – with expected revenue of approximately AU$38.6 million per year in its steady state of operations.

This partnership creates a unique collaboration between two organisations with more than 160 years experience delivering large-scale catering and hospitality solutions – commensurate with the scale and length of tenure of the Sports Hub catering contract.

Delaware North first collaborated with SATS, through its inflight catering joint venture in India to provide the food and hospitality at the Athletes’ Village at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, serving 33,000 meals daily across the main, casual and workforce/police dining areas.
This forged the foundation for Sports Catering Services’ bid for the prestigious Sports Hub catering contract.
