Located in Fitzroy, The Commoner offers organisers a unique dining option for small to medium sized group dining, corporate cocktails and private events.
Since opening in 2007, The Commoner has created a quirky atmosphere for group dining, with a modern-British style menu and welcoming environment.
The eclectic ‘Small Food’ style of The Commoner includes menu items such as house-cured and wood fired favourites.
Upstairs, private dining areas for smaller groups are easily set apart for exclusive use and the second floor can easily be adapted for a small to medium sized event space.
Upstairs private dining rooms are available for small to medium sized events.
Events held at The Commoner can be organised year round and menu and wine lists can be easily organised to suit your overall budget and requirements.
The Commoner has also developed an innovative ‘Feed Me’ dining concept where diners can sit down and prepare to discover something new as they are kept uniformed about the menu and are simply fed by the creative culinary team.

For 2012, the restaurant has also launched movie inspired menus and themed degustation menus from ‘Back to the Butcher’ (a paddock to plate menu focusing on sustainable and local producers) to ‘Whisky Business’ (a single-malt whisky wonderland held in conjunction with Australian Gourmet Pages’ whisky authority Franz Scheurer).
