Reminiscent of a cool jazz club and intimate sophisticated supper and cocktail style venue, Blue Beat is located in the heart of the eastern suburbs at 16-18 Cross Street, Double Bay.


Ready to open its doors in Sydney, Blue Beat will be the latest in live music venues on offer.

The cream of the entertainment industry, performers, artists, producers, managersand celebrities will gather in intimate, music savvy surroundings with superb acoustics to launch the venue. Cocktails with a selection of quality canapés will be showcased in a true latenight style.

A superb music venue, custom-tailored, with a cutting edge digital desk, a magnificent Steinway piano and a fully restored Hammond organ, owned and operated by music passionate veterans Christopher Richards and Nicholas Rice who have an eye for live music and what it takes to offer this in a sophisticated late night supper style venue.Synonymouswith the best of the best Chris Richards venues have played host to musicians as Prince, KD Lang, Melissa Etheridge, Michael Bublé,Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole, Chris Botti, Jimmy Smith and Nigel Kennedy.

Blue Beat oozes live music and was founded on the same passion for live music that’s been at the heart of owners previous venues, The Basement, Bar Broadway and Marquee nightclub. Music takes centre stage, together with a late night supper club menu with food available till late.


The Blue Beat music policy is eclectic, including a program of internationals and the best of Australian artists, playing roots, dance, jazz, world, soul, pop and the unexpected.

Designed for maximum music appreciation, the club’s layout offers views from practically all parts of the venue.

A capacity of 440 can be configured to provide a versatile range of seating/standing options. There are several areas including VIP section’s, cosy banquettes offer provide the option of privacy,still with sight of the stage and anunder New York atmosphere.

A well-appointed private and VIP bar is equipped with a Steinway grand piano and is available for private functions.
