Crown’s latest dining venue, The Merrywell is set to open starting mid April this year, led by innovative globe-trotting chefsGrant MacPherson and Sam DeMarco.

The Merrywell will be a modern interpretation of a gastronomy-driven pub offering a blend of quality food, drink and service in Crown Melbourne’s precinct, on the corner of Clarendon St and Crown’s Riverside. The Merrywell will be open 7 ways a week starting 18 April 2012.

The Merrywell will feature  Brit-grub favourites such as “piggies in a blanket” with house-made dipping sauces, burgers, Sammy D’s famous chicken lollipops with blue cheese fondue and a roll-call of re-interpreted classics and old-school faves re-invented such as seafood Shepherd’s pie, Scotch eggs and wood-fired Jack Daniel’s pork chops.

Patrons will also be able to choose from a list of boutique beers, Vestal purified water, local and imported wines and a hand-crafted cocktail list.

The Merrywell will feature a modern day burger bar downstairs and the ‘Top of The Merrywell’ restaurant upstairs, complete with an outdoor heated terrace.

Acclaimed American Chefs Grant MacPherson and Sam DeMarco (Sammy D), who is best known for making dishes that other chefs crave, are culinary innovators who are not afraid to break with tradition and are equally at home in the kitchen and behind the bar.
