With over fifty foodie fanatics in attendance, along with contestants Hayden Quinn and Courtney Roulston and the who’s who of Australian chefs, such as Adriano Zumbo, Miguel Maestre, Alessandro Pavoni and Shaun Presland, the stunt marked the final countdown to the upcoming MasterChef Live event.

The mass cook-off led by Cheeky Food Group, gave Aussies a promising taste of what is to come at MasterChef Live’s three day cooking festival; which will feature a free flambé cooking class for 100 people – double the size of today’s – on the hour, every hour.

The three day event will be jam packed with free cooking classes, live demonstrations, intimate Q & A’s with celebrity chefs, live theatre shows, chef-on-chef cook offs and much, much more.

Be a contestant for the day and take part in a timed cake decorating challenge with Vincent Gadan, or roll up your sleeves and make your own sushi, bake your own bread, create your own dumplings, do a taste test at Justin North’s Quarter 21 cooking school, or take part in as many other free classes as you can fit in!

NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, who was in attendance this morning, says the NSW Government, through Destination NSW, is proud to support MasterChef Live, an event which is exclusive to Sydney, Australia’s global events city.

“MasterChef Live is a key lifestyle event on the NSW Events Calendar, celebrating Sydney and NSW produce. I strongly encourage all food fanatics to take the opportunity to jump aboard the MasterChef phenomenon and attend the classes, workshops and hands on cooking demonstrations that MasterChef Live provides,” he explained.

Produced under license from Shine Australia and now in its second year, MasterChef Live, the ultimate foodie’s event, will run from 7-9 October 2011 at the Royal Hall of Industries and Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park. MasterChef Live will provide food lovers an opportunity to cook, learn, eat and shop, while mingling with their favourite chefs, judges and contestants from MasterChef.
