In April, Showcase launched its highly anticipated mini-series adaptation of Tim Winton’s cloudstreet.

 
Sydney’s Flying Fish restaurant was transformed back into the 1940’s for this launch event

On a perfect balmy evening, guests – including author Tim Winton and stars Stephen Curry, Geoff Morrell and Essie Davis arrived at Sydney’s Flying Fish restaurant at the tip of Jones Bay Wharf to be transported back to the 1940s.

 
Inside the venue, guests were welcomed to a re-created pub/corner store

With a live pianist at the trusty upright of the re-created pub/corner store, and staff in period costume and make-up, serving pasties, pies and ANZAC biscuit ice cream sandwiches, it was a miraculous ‘step back in time’ experience.
