New Zealand’s premiere conference and incentive trade show will now be held in Rotorua on June 22 and 23 this year. The event, scheduled to be in Christchurch, has been relocated due to the earthquake on February 22, Rotorua was chosen as an alternative destination.

Meetings 2011 brings together buyers and sellers to grow mutual business, with 500 industry people expected to participate and enjoy what Rotorua has to offer over 3-4 days. “Our heartfelt thoughts go to our colleagues in Christchurch – and all Canterbury residents – during this difficult time,” Rotorua Convention Bureau manager Denise Siviter said.

The Energy Events Centre in Rotorua will be the new venue for Meetings 2011

“Rotorua is a great alternative destination to host Meetings and, with direct trans-Tasman flights from Sydney, it was a natural fit for Air New Zealand, which is the principal sponsor,”

Rotorua is one of New Zealand’s key conference and incentive destinations, with a wide range of international hotels and award-winning activities guaranteed to please any delegate. It is also the cultural heartland of New Zealand and a geothermal wonderland.

The trade show hosts buyers from New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the US. It will be held at the Energy Events Centre, a multi-purpose venue ideal for such an event.

“This is a great opportunity for Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty. We look forward to welcoming all participants to the region and showcasing the many attractions it has to offer,” she said.
