Tourism Whitsundays appoints new Business Events Manager


Tourism Whitsundays has welcomed Tamara Pidcock to the role of Business Events Manager last month (January.)

“We can now immediately move forward in implementing our Business Events marketing plans, full of fresh ideas and inspiration to promote the Whitsundays,” said cheif executive officer Peter O’Reilly.


Newly-appointed as Business Events Manager at Tourism Whitsundays, Tamara Pidcock.

“Tamara is leading the official convention bureau for the region, and is promoting and marketing the Whitsundays region nationally and internationally as one of the world’s best conference and incentive destinations,” he said.

“I will be hosting numerous famils with corporate representatives and PCOs to showcase the Whitsundays unique events and incentives products, and continuing to work closely with the business events trade,” Pidcock said, adding that she was delighted to be promoting such a beautiful region and looks forward to meeting many new people in the industry.

“One of my main goals is to create a new interactive website specifically tailored for Business Events, and to provide dedicated information to Business Events planners.” 

Pidcock has relocated to the Whitsundays from Sydney, after a 12 month period as marketing manager for Holiday Inn NSW.

With 10 years experience in the Tourism Industry both in Australia and in the UK and has worked for Travel Corporation, Tourism NT and InterContinental Hotels Group all in marketing roles, giving her a wide range of experiences and a solid understanding of the industry.
