The Gold Coast tourism market will receive a Christmas boost with the hotly anticipated Hilton Surfers Paradise now taking bookings for its December Stage One opening. And drumming up enthusiasm for the already anticipated open was Julian Beever, world famous chalk and street artist known as ‘Pavement Picasso’ who created a special installation over 4 days in Brisbane’s busy Queens St Mall promoting the new hotel.

Stage One of the $700 million hotel and residences, the Boulevard Tower, will comprise 134 residences managed by Hilton, while the Orchid Tower, featuring a Hilton Hotel and additional residences is due to be completed in mid-2011.

Hilton Surfers Paradise newly–appointed general manager, David Kelly, said the team were looking forward to welcoming their first guests when Stage One of the hotel opens in December.

“Hilton Surfers Paradise guests can expect to experience the refreshing hospitality Hilton is renowned for around the globe from the very moment they arrive, from the front desk to the pool and everywhere in-between,” Kelly said.

Guests will be able to stay in one, two or three bedroom fully-serviced residential apartments when Stage One opens in December, while the dedicated Hilton Hotel and additional residences will come on board when Stage Two opens in mid-2011. Most apartments feature spectacular views of the ocean, hinterland or city.

“We’re obviously very pleased to be opening our doors just in time for the holiday season and we anticipate Gold Coast holiday-makers right around Australia will move quickly to book their Christmas and New Year getaway with us and be among the first guests to stay at the brand new Hilton Surfers Paradise,” Kelly said.
