Club Med Australia and NZ

Briard was previously sales and marketing director for Belgium and Luxembourg, which is the second largest market for Club Med outside of France and a market which has seen positive growth in the past few years. He has extensive experience of nearly ten years with Club Med in Europe.

Club Med – who is celebrating its 60th Birthday, recognises that Australia has been a big part of the worldwide renaissance of the global holiday group, beginning in 2004 with its move upscale that has proven very successful and profitable for the group despite global economic downturns.

“Club Med is the specialist for all Inclusive, friendly and multicultural premium holidays, and we have gained major acceptance amongst families and couples all around the world. The new resort offerings, upgrades and refinements, will only continue to attract Australians more, I believe,” he said, on arriving in Australia.

“Club Med is the market leader in innovative, upscale, beach and ski resorts, in beautiful natural locations. Our teams have worked very hard to ensure the public understands the modern and innovative nature of Club Med in 2010, and we will strive to continue to grow that recognition.”

His challenges in this region of Asia Pacific will be to continue to build a “high-end” customer base and ensure their loyalty. In addition to the commercial responsibilities for Australia, he will also be in charge of all operations at Lindeman Island Resort in the Whitsundays, and for Commercial operations in New Zealand.

Club Med has recently announced its first Resort in China (a Ski Resort at Yabuli), plans for a Sun Resort in Vietnam, and later this year will launch a brand new Resort in Sinai Bay, Egypt before opening in Oman in 2011.
