The event saw the aquatic venue transformed into ‘The Extravagance’ cruise ship for one night only to the sheer delight and surprise of guests who arrived at the gang plank to the ship where they were greeted by waiters in sailor costumes.

They were welcomed into the cocktail lounge on the top deck of the ship filled with navy blue and white lifebuoys, stunning floral arrangements by Sticks and Wicks and pristine lounge furniture by Funktionality Decor. From the deck guests enjoyed a spectacular view down to the tropical destination by the pool. As the ship prepared to set sail, the horn rang out loud and clear and MC David Malek from SMA Productions leapt to the stage with a fabulous rendition of ‘Beyond the Sea’.

The guests spent the evening exploring the ship, discovering all the hidden delights. The ‘Captain’s Room’ was set up to showcase the venues conferencing space and contained a tray of delicious sweet treats.

The tropical destination was extremely popular especially when the paella station and the cocktail bar were unveiled. As the guests arrived they were greeted by the captain on shore leave and handed a leis. Bamboo furniture, lush tropical plants, thatched umbrellas and brightly coloured cocktails completed the scene. With vibrant blue lighting sending ripples through the pool, a sunken dining table finished with a low hung art deco chandelier was revealed submerged into the water.

The evening culminated in a performance from Evelyn Duprai as she appeared as if from the sea in a glittering dress and stunned the guests into silence with a haunting version of ‘Over the Rainbow’.

Funktionality is in its 10th year of operation recently splitting the company into two arms encompassing Funktionality Event Management and Funktionality Décor.
