Meetings NZ exhibitor space sells out

Meetings NZ, to be held in Auckland this June, has increased exhibitor space for 2010 and the larger capacity has been quickly snapped up.

Meetings NZ, to be held in Auckland this June, has increased exhibitor space for 2010 from 170 spaces to 184, and the larger capacity has been quickly snapped up.

“There’s been a fantastic uptake from exhibitors around the country and this year we not only have more stand space, but also more than a dozen new exhibiting companies, which is fantastic,” says Jeanette Stanton, Meetings 2010 event manager. “The show is going from strength to strength and is coupled with a 23% increase in hosted buyer applications across the board, with huge interest from Australian buyers. This shows that New Zealand is well and truly back on the map as a C&I destination.”

The event is being held on June 23 and 24 at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre and showcases a diverse range of New Zealand’s venues, products and services. Hosted buyers from throughout New Zealand, Australia and a select group from long-haul destinations will attend show.

“Thanks to Air New Zealand we are welcoming more international hosted buyers to this year’s show than ever, including 12 North American and 9 Chinese buyers,” says Alan Trotter, CEO Conventions & Incentives New Zealand (CINZ). “We are also awaiting confirmation that a small contingent from Japan will also attend.

“This is the largest group of long-haul international buyers that Meetings 2010 has ever hosted and it’s a great vote of confidence in the New Zealand MICE industry as a whole.”
