Sydney venue hotspot Kudu Bar and Lounge celebrated their 2nd birthday last week (17 March) with an African themed event where plans for the opening of a new venue were also announced.
The African theme, inspired by the bar’s namesake, transformed the venue into a Wednesday night playground for Sydney’s social scene.

Guests were greeted by staff dressed as African animals, face painted bar staff and a door girl that replicated an exotic bird.
Flowing Moët, sorbet cocktails and a degustation of delicious canapés kept everyone appropriately hydrated and nourished in the makeshift Sahara setting.

DJ Jimmy2Sox provided the perfect soundtrack, from Toto’s Africa to the tribal sounds of Ebony Bones as guests took to the dance floor.
Spotted celebrating were Channel V’s Danny Clayton, fashion designer, Bowie, models, Cassie Gardener, Angela Shallis, Kristy Coulcher, Rachel Phillips (aka DJ Minx) and Jay Simons.

Guest were also some of the first to hear about Chalmers’ newest venture, Beach Haus opening in a matter of weeks at the old Baron’s site in Kings Cross.
Beach Haus’ rumoured light, crisp design will bring breath of fresh air to Sydney’s bar scene and buck the prevalent local trend for dark-wood-and chrome interiors.
Guests to the bar can look forward to a level of exclusivity not experienced in Sydney before, Veuve Clicquot, premium vodka & caviar nights and service fit for the Hamptons’ celebutante set.
