TV Masterchef Headlines Inaugural Sunshine Coast Food Event

TV MasterChef judge and owner Melbourne’s award-winning The Press Club Restaurant and Bar, George Calombaris, will headline the inaugural Sunshine Coast Food Show to be held on Sunday February 21, 2010 at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort.


TV Masterchef and culinary guru George Calombaris to headline the inaugural Sunshine Coast Food Show

The event is set to showcase the Sunshine Coast region’s array of local food, wine, beer and other beverage producers.

Calombaris will present a number of live cooking displays using Sunshine Coast regional produce and has also created a six-course menu for the Show’s Gala Dinner, which will be held the night before – Saturday February 21 – at Lily’s on the Lagoon restaurant at Twin Waters.

The Press Club was awarded two chef hats and named ‘Best New Restaurant’ at the 2008 Age Good Food Guide Awards and Colombaris was awarded ‘Chef of the Year 2008’. The Restaurant was also nominated for Best New Restaurant in Australia.

The cost of the February 20 Gala Dinner is AU$195 per person. Entry to the February 21 Sunshine Coast Food Show will be AU$49 for adults and AU$25 for children.
