The Australian Ballet has once again performed to a maximum capacity audience at Hamilton Island’s luxury resort, qualia.

The Australian Ballet performs at qualia

Four of the company’s leading dancers – Principal Artist Yosvani Ramos, Coryphées’ Stephanie Williams and Ty King-Wall and 20-year-old newcomer to The Australian Ballet, Kristy Corea – took to the outdoor stage set under a starry canopy to the delight of the guests who attended this year’s “Pas de Deux in Paradise.”

Emceed by TV presenter Catriona Rowntree, the weekend provided guests not only with the opportunity to see the performance but also to participate in a Q&A with the dancers, watch them as they rehearsed and also attend a Bodywise Class held by Williams and King-Wall.

“We are delighted to have the chance to jump off the big stage for a change and bring the Ballet to an intimate gathering of guests allowing them to interact with the dancers and get behind the scenes. This is certainly a great opportunity for all of us and one we really enjoy at The Australian Ballet,” said The Australian Ballet Artistic Director, David McAllister.

The dancers showcased four classic pas de deux from Swan Lake, Giselle, Le Corsaire and Grand Pas Classique – thrilling the audience with their grace and strength.

qualia General Manager Jason Friedman said: “We feel that the grace and elegance of the ballet perfectly complements qualia’s style and setting.”
