Mirvac Hotels and Resorts has been selected to manage Victoria’s newest alpine hotel, the Quay West Resort and Spa Falls Creek, which will officially open on June 5, 2009 in time for the upcoming ski season.
Alpine high: Quay West Falls Creek
The announcement of the property is welcome news for Victoria’s regional MICE industry, which had been hit hard following the devastating bushfires earlier in the year.
The news of the 5-star, 63-room all-apartment resort also came just a week after QantasLink announced the reinstatement of direct flights between Sydney and nearby Mount Hotham airport.
The Quay West Resort and Spa Falls Creek is located within the new St Falls precinct, which offers both drive-in and drive-out, and ski-in and ski-out facilities, the first of its kind in Australia.
The 63 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom fully furnished apartments boast modern interiors, under floor heating, open plan living areas, a European laundry and drying cupboard, views overlooking the Kiewa Valley and over Falls Creek’s main ski runs, and a hot tub on apartment balconies.
A range of conferencing facilities will also be on offer at the resort, as will a spa, to be operated under Mirvac’s award-winning Mii Spa brand.
