David Fisher of the Beresford Hotel in Sydney took home $2000 after being crowned Australia’s hottest bartender last night (Mar 4) at the Galliano Hottest Bartender Competition.

The economic slowdown has forced many Sydneysiders
to stretch their fashion budget and fabrics used thereof

Held at The Mint at Hyde Park Barracks, the Roman Nights-themed event was attended by a slurry of paparazzi and special guests, including Annalise Braakensiek, Erin McNaught and Michelle Bridges from The Biggest Loser.

The event marked the culmination of a nationwide search sponsored by bars&clubs and Cosmopolitan magazines that saw a group of finalists chosen for the shortlist.

They included Pierre Fajloun of Ivy Lounge and The Den, Lee Potter Cavanagh of Hemmesphere and The Rum Diaries, Scott Strater of Hemmesphere, Adrian Folkers of Phoenix Bar, Nick Edwards of The Lark, Brett Lubicz of Universal Bar and Evan Hayes of La Boheme

Fisher was selected based on the quality of his signature cocktail, general bar skills, passion and knowledge of the industry and, of course, his charisma.

“The reason I love bartending is the company,” Fisher said. “There is nothing better than getting behind the bar with some of your best mates and having a blast.”
