Sydney Club Celebrates Chinese New Year

Sydney's Mandarin Club -- a new multistory venue set in the heart of Chinatown -- is hosting a special celebration to welcome the Chinese New Year.


Sydney’s Mandarin Club — a new multistory venue set in the heart of Chinatown — is hosting a special celebration to welcome the Chinese New Year.

The event will take place on Jan 25 and 26 at the Mandarin Club’s Bar One, an outdoor terrace with alfresco drinking and dining options. It will feature live entertainment, Chinese decorations and an appearance by the Chinese God of Wealth.

A special menu has been constructed for the two-day event by head chef Carlos Bacalhau. Dishes offered include Asian beef salad with rice noodles, snow-peas, coriander and mind; Asian fish cakes with snow-pea salad in chili, cucumber and ginger dipping sauce, slow roasted pork belly on red cabbage with orange chili jam; and honey chilli glazed duck with steamed bok choy.
