Langham Hotels International (LHI) has appointed Aviva Chow as the director of global sales – MICE as part of its strategic plan to provide a targeted service for sector.

Chow will be responsible for the development of group global MICE strategies and revenues for all new and existing Langham properties, including The Langham Melbourne, The Langham London, group’s first luxury hotels in China (The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai; Langham Place Beijing) and Eaton Hong Kong.

Her appointment coincides with the recent launch of LHI’s MICE service, takethelead — an initiative that combines an efficient online service platform for meeting planners with personalised on-site support. The bespoke service assumes responsibility for every single detail of an event — from planning, logistics, venues, facilities, and dining through to entertainment.

The initiative also provides value added services such as the online Meeting Planners Academy — a service that is pertinent in present economic times where companies are looking for ways to hold events with limited resources. 

It also offer complimentary service other hotel groups are known to charge for. With its dedicated events microsite, automated rooming lists, itineraries, and information for events at the one dedicated site, meeting planners can find the information they need and receive a proposal quickly and efficiently.
