Qantas has launched twice-weekly flights between Adelaide and Kalgoorlie in a major boost to tourism and conference business for the Western Australian town.

Qantas has launched an Adelaide-Kalgoorlie service

“The new Kalgoorlie-Adelaide service will not only provide the business and tourism sectors with the opportunity to travel between Kalgoorlie and Adelaide, but will enable people to utilise Adelaide as a convenient connection point to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane,” said Qantas regional general manager – Western Australia, Ian Gay.

The new flights commence on March 1, 2009 and seats are currently on-sale for $179 one way.

Gay said Qantas would also increase its Kalgoorlie-Perth services from 21 services to 24 services each week from February 26, 2009, and increase capacity between Perth and Broome and Karratha.

Qantas will also introduce B737-800 services between Perth and Port Hedland from February 2009.
