Accor’s second Pullman hotel in Australia is set to open in Cairns on December 1 following a strategic rebranding that targets the corporate travel and MICE segments.

Australia’s second Pullman property will open in
Cairns on December 1

Accor vice president – Australia, Simon McGrath, said under its new Pullman badge, the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino — formerly the Sofitel — will have the freedom to leverage its existing 5-star features and establish a new business benchmark as the region’s premier conference, events and high-end incentive specialist.

“The Pullman brand is dynamic with a focus on providing services to the corporate and meetings sectors, as well as leisure travellers,” he said. “Following the global repositioning of the Sofitel brand late last year and the launch of Pullman, we have looked for suitable hotels to join the network and Cairns, being such an important gateway city, was an ideal addition.”

The 128-room hotel features a dedicated conference floor that was refurbished in 2007 and offers a range of pre- and post-event venues and six different venue spaces to host groups up to 1000 people.

Conference clients also have access to two uniquely themed venues, a large exhibition area and access to the hotel’s own cabaret night club.

Pullman Reef Hotel Casino Cairns follows the successful opening of the brand new Pullman Sydney Olympic Park on September 1.

More than 300 Pullman hotels are expected to open globally by 2015.
