The Appointment Group Asia Pacific has today announced the acquisition of Sydney-based events company, Axis Events.

The Appointment Group is an independently owned global events and corporate travel management company with nine offices across Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Singapore. It was founded in the UK and has been operating for over 28 years.

Heading up The Appointment Group Asia Pacific is managing director, Shane Barr.

Of  the acquisition, he said, “The acquisition of Axis Events represents an exciting time for all involved. Our general manager Laura Tucker’s wealth of event experience spans 21 years globally, combined with our strong supplier relationships and business networks, we have now created a powerful group of travel and event specialists and look forward to further cementing our position in the Australian market.

“The entire team, both at The Appointment Group and Axis Events, will remain an integral part of the expanded division and our future growth plans within the MICE market throughout Asia Pacific,” he said.

As part of the acquisition, The Appointment Group welcomes 28 Axis Events staff into their team with a planned recruitment drive to create new event management and business development roles. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore, this will create one of Australia’s biggest events companies.
