Minor Hotel Group (MHG), owners of the Anantara, Avani, Oaks, Elewana and Tivoli brands, have officially launched Per Aquum in Australia.

Per Aquum vice president Nick Downing visited Australia this week to communicate the changes that came about when MHG took over the brand.

The group, which includes the Huvafen Fushi and Niyama resorts in the Maldives and Desert Palms in Dubai, will expand under MHG’s stewardship.

The next scheduled opening for the Per Aquum group is the Zalu Zanzibar property that will open its doors in December this year.

Downing said that the growth strategy is ‘opportunistic’ and that MHG is on the hunt for the right partners to expand the brand.

“We expect to add 5 – 10 properties in the next 5 – 10 years,” he said.

In terms of countries, nothing is out of the question, with both city and regional areas on the table. Downing said that Sri Lanka is looking likely and that he would love to see a Per Aquum in Australia in the near future.

Furthermore, Downing said that MHG is investing in each of the properties to ensure that they reflect the residential, ‘naturally modern’ design ethos that is at the heart of the refreshed brand.
