More than 120 conference and meeting organisers attended the ‘Farmers Market’ themed event which was held at Maia, Central Pier, Docklands.

Convention bureau manager Mark Day said, “We had 34 regional operators showcasing their world-class facilities to a bevy of high profile event organisers, re-confirming why Geelong, The Bellarine and Great Ocean Road region continues to be a popular destination for conferences and events,” he said.

“Our local operators are renowned for being professional, knowledgeable and eager to help so it was the perfect chance to see them all under one roof.

“The Business Events Geelong Road Show is a concept that was established to connect the people who run our professional products and services, with conference organisers planning future meetings and events.”

Many of the guests arrived at the event via ‘Bongo’, a retro European Tricar, where they were then greeted by ‘Guido the fruiterer’ to the market style atmosphere created by IGBY Productions.

The ‘Farmers Market’ theme was used to highlight the region’s food, wine and beer. Throughout the evening guests were able to sample local food such as Portarlington mussels and beverages from Little Creatures Brewery Geelong and wineries throughout the region.
