Gaming and hospitality expo a hit in Melbourne

[Mon 25/06/2012 02:13:21]

Produced by Australian Exhibitions & Conferences (AEC)The Clubs + Hotels Australia 2012 expo, held last week (19-20 June) at Melbourne Exhibition Centre, will return for 2013 following great success.

The expo took place over two days last week at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

The expo saw leaders in the gaming and hospitality industries display the latest in innovation and technology.

“The success of the event demonstrates that this is an exciting time for Clubs + Hotels Australia," said Harvey Stockbridge, managing director of organisers, AEC. "We believe this quality expo has significant potential to grow each year into a must attend event on the industry calendar.”

This year’s expo was aptly timed, offering guidelines to the recent changes to Victorian gambling regulations which will come into effect in August 2012.

All seminars covering the gaming stream and the free to trade Seminars were well attended. Good visitation was reported throughout the two days, particularly with visitors from the outer regions of Victoria to provide AEC with confidence that the Melbourne based expo is essential for the Victorian hospitality industry.

Exhibitors included Aristocrat, leaders in the gaming industry who unveiled their new Legends series including the Five Dragons and Queen of the Nile. Other exhibitors on show were Lightech Australia featuring their newest Australian-made energy efficient decorative lighting sets, Philip Lazarus, importer of extensive glassware Libbey, Full House Group, renowned for their Sportspick product and Amtek, authorised provider of gaming services and support to Victoria.

Key highlights of the show included a Poker Challenge where novice players could learn to improve their skills.

The Best Stand accolades were awarded to relative newcomer to the industry, Long Range Systems, and industry heavyweight, Aristocrat, notable for their impressive presence.

Other key highlights were the Poker Challenge held on day two, attracting learners to experienced attendees trying their hand.

“Attendees to Clubs + Hotels Australia 2012 had the opportunity to view the very latest technology in the gaming and hospitality arena. Industry buyers were able to glimpse the latest products unveiled by exhibitors throughout the region, with many sales opportunities generated over the two days. It was a pleasing result for our first ever Clubs + Hotels Australia expo” said Conrad Patrick, exhibition director.

AEC has already confirmed the 2013 expo will boast an even larger and more impressive line up with major exhibitors in the industry already confirmed to participate.
