Novotel Bangkok Platinum Launches Planet 21 by Accor

On the 21st of April 2012 Novotel Bangkok Platinum launched the new sustainable development program by Accor called Planet 21 with a buzz of activities taking place throughout the day.
Lights were off during the activiy and candles were lit through the lobby.
The program involved the employees and guests at the hotel. Lights were off during the activity, and candles were lit throughout the lobby, where employees came by holding candles to form the number 21. Together with the employees, our band from the Platinum Lounge joined and sang The Earth Song by Michael Jackson, while the formation of 21 was being formed.
Accor's new program, Planet 21, represents an important phase in the hotel group's commitment to sustainable development. Plenet 21 consists of 21 commitments and targets set by Accor for 2015 which include items like disease prevention training in hotels, well-balanced meals, fair-trade products ancd decreasing water and energy consumption.
At the Novotel Bangkok Platinum. Miss Planet 21 launched the tree campign where every guest or passerby could hug and donate 100 Baht (approx $3 AUS) each and receive a small plant in return of their kind deed.
The Hug A Tree activity, designed to help plant for the planet, exchanges one new tree for just 100 Baht (approx $3 AUS)
Novotel Bangkok Platinum managed to raise a total of 4,885 Baht , which is equivalent to 49 trees to be planted. This has been a very exciting activity for the employees at Novotel Bangkok Platinum whom said that we are very proud to be a part of saving the planet and its roots.
