Australia's largest oil and gas event AOG opens in Perth

[Thu 23/02/2012 01:44:07]

Over 460 exhibitors from 18 countries have come together in Perth for the opening of the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) yesterday (22 Feb.)

Australia’s largest oil and gas event will fill all six pavilions at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) over three huge days, playing host to industry leaders from the Australia, UK, China, Singapore, USA, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Malaysia, Indonesia and India.

Western Australia’s Minister for Energy, Peter Collier will join British High Commissioner to Australia, HE Paul Madden before the exhibition doors open to announce a major new initiative to encourage more British companies to do business with and invest in Australia’s oil and gas industry.

More than 60 UK companies have descended on Perth to exhibit at AOG 2012, the largest foreign delegation at the event and the largest-ever British contingent at AOG.

AOG 2012 will showcase the latest innovations, projects and technology from leading oil and gas operators, contractors and supply companies, including Woodside, INPEX, Technip, FMC Technologies, Aker Solutions, Siemans, GE Oil & Gas, Cameron, Honeywell and Subsea 7.

“AOG has grown to become Australia’s largest oil and gas event and the only exhibition of its kind to attract over 11,000 visitors and with the calibre of this year’s exhibitors, we expect some major business to take place in Perth over the course of the next three days,” said event director, Bill Hare.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the exhibition floor, the show will also include the first topical sessions of the AOG Conference with local and international experts delving into industry hot topics such as logistics infrastructure and asset performance management.

The Subsea Australasia Conference will also get underway, with 550 delegates coming together to explore new advances in field development, subsea operations, connection systems and infrastructure in a packed program of presentations.

The opening day will conclude in style in the Summer Garden at PCEC
