BY JAMES WILKINSON IN SINGAPORE
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ new area Vice President for Australia and South East Asia, Michael Cottan says a number of markets across the company are performing well for the company at present, particularly Australian outbound traffic.
City leader: Shangri-La Hotel Singapore
Speaking exclusively to SpiceNews on camera in Singapore, where he has just handed over the General Manager reins at the Shangri-La Hotel, Cottan said Australian outbound business was booming in Singapore, Malaysia and China at present and he was confident the market would hold up well in 2012.
Cottan, who was formerly the General Manager of the Shangri-La Hotel Sydney, also revealed to SpiceNews that Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort was set to undergo another major renovation that includes the demolition of the Lagoon wing and a new lobby.
Cottan also said Shangri-La is still very interested in growing further in Australia and the company was exploring opportunities in a number of major cities.
