Medieval maidens and gallant knights for PCB members Christmas Ball

[Thu 15/12/2011 08:54:45]

The Perth Convention Bureau’s membership department organise a number of networking events for their members each year including the annual Christmas Ball held this week.

Each year the Bureau is charged with the task of coming up with a new theme, as members are known to embrace this theme and dress accordingly, the 2011 Ball was no exception.

The medieval themed event took place at the landmark St. Georges College in Perth.

With a theme of Medieval and the venue St Georges College the mood was set. WA’s own Corporate Theatre Productions provided the AV and theming. Famous for creating inspirational experiences, Vaughan Emery and his team delivered a scene befitting any knight or damsel.

The themd event saw guests  entertained pre-dinner by classical duo Divalicious and post dinner by local rock cover band, Half Step Down.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by a number of local acts including Micro, wedge-tailed eagle who happily posed for photographs with guests. Local Robin Hood lookalike and master of the bow, Scott White from The Archery Centre, gave patrons the benefit of his expert archery knowledge.

Special guest, Micro, the wedge-tailed eagle happily posed with guests for photos.

The beautiful Neo Gothic style of architecture and formal garden of St. Georges College is a local landmark. The College grounds are entered in the Register of the National Estate by the Australian Heritage Commission and provided the perfect setting for the function.

“The members went all out on their costumes which were very creative, and included a Quasimodo impersonator from the Perth Bell Tower” said PCB CEO Paul Beeson. “These events are well supported with around half our membership attending on the night, as well as providing in kind support such as wine, beer and AV”.

Wine was kindly provided by Sandalford Winery whilst award winning WA company Feral Brewing Company donated the beer.
